Ensuite Renovation in Cardiff, NSW: Creating a Unique and Functional Space
This project showcases how we transformed a tiny and outdated ensuite and walk-in robe into a spacious and modern bathroom with a unique arch design.
Client Name
Kirsty Bryers
Project Duration
20 Days
Project Location
Cardiff
The Objective
Kirsty and Rob wanted ensuite bathroom renovations for their existing ensuite, which was very small and did not allow for many layout options. They wanted a more functional and stylish space that would both look good and suit their needs. They were also looking to update their walk-in robe, which was adjacent to the ensuite.
Our Approach
We started this project with an on-site discussion to understand our clients’ wants and needs. From our professional experience, we knew that what they were wanting to achieve for their small ensuite renovation would be nearly impossible. We suggested a reconfiguration of the ensuite and walk-in robe, which would create more room and better flow.
Our clients were not sure how this would work, so we generated a 3D design to help them visualise the ensuite renovation ideas for their potential new space. Kirsty loved it! From here, we created a quote followed by a certificate of insurance and contract. Then, we commenced the project, managing the project from design to completion.
The Challenges
We faced some challenges during this project, such as:
- Reconfiguring the layout of the bathroom and robe, which required relocating plumbing and electrical points.
- Installing a fan inside the recess for the skylight tucked into the top side out of sight to draw out the steam from the shower, as this was a fixed shower screen.
- Creating an arch doorway to suit the mirror cabinet, which was a custom-made feature that added character and style to the bathroom.
- Dealing with poor access and parking close to the site due to being three houses away from school gates, which added some difficulty to the project.
The Solution
We offered comprehensive services for the ensuite renovation, encompassing design through to completion. This included demolition, carpentry, plastering, waterproofing, tiling, plumbing, and electrical work. Our solution was crafted to align with our clients’ expectations and budget.
We designed a spacious and contemporary ensuite, highlighted by a unique arch design that seamlessly blended with the existing style of their home. A skylight was strategically placed above the shower for added natural light. We also constructed a new wall with an archway door that mirrored the design of the arched mirror.
Additionally, we incorporated unique niches and custom cabinetry into the robe. To give it a personal touch, the clients decided to handle the painting themselves.
Final Thoughts
We are very proud of how this project turned out. We completed it on time, despite some challenges along the way, and achieved a stunning transformation that gave our clients a more functional and stylish space that they love.
We are glad that our clients appreciated our unique design and custom features that suited their style and the rest of their house. Here is what Kirsty had to say about working with us:
